Special arrangements apply to those who may take longer than 5 hours. For safety reasons participants who have not reached the 28km mark by 10.00am (at the discretion of the Course Manager) will be redirected to the cycle path adjacent to Lake Burley Griffin. The cycle path closely follows the road course, is measured to the same international standards as the road course and has drink stations (including personal refreshments), marshals and directional signs. The course manager has discretion to move other participants from the road course to the cycle path if they fall behind the 5 hour schedule.

While there is no formal time limit the race organiser reserves the right to declare the race over at 1.30pm, in consideration of safety and other issues. The race organiser also reserves the right to disallow marathon finishers to continue on the 50km course should they finish the marathon in over 5 hours.

There is no provision for early starters and such action will result in disqualification.

Chip Timing will be provided by Multisport Australia. Race packs will include a timing chip which must be tied securely to one of your shoes.

The timing chip remains the property of Multisport Australia and must be returned immediately after the finish of the marathon. Failure to return the chip will result in a $25 fee being payable.
